A two-day conference to learn about the current state-of-the-art with regard to the impact of pollution on skin

The Skin Ageing and Challenges conference was held in Porto from 25th to 27th of February under the patronage of the International Society of Antioxidants in Nutrition and Health (ISANH). During the two-day conference, the Scientific Committee has allocated significant time to discuss the latest advances related to skin homeostasis and ageing and address the issues related to Skin aging, Oxidative stress and Microbiota. Researchers from all over the world came to introduce the recent innovations, biotechnology products and devices. Giuseppe Valacchi, research professor at the University of Ferrara and partner of the CITYCARE project, has presented his work linked to Ozone effect on Skin and the related “Oxinflammation” mechanisms. This conference was a great opportunity for the three ESRs to learn about innovative research activities in the field of skin ageing, and to network with other PhD students, academics and industry players.
